At Belvedere Family Dentistry we are committed to making your new patient exam and cleaning as easy and as convenient for you as possible. Below you will find additional information on what to expect at your first appointment so you can be as comfortable as possible!

All new patients will need to fill out new patient forms to help us meet your entire healthcare needs. These forms can be found on our website by clicking this link or by going to our “Patients” page and downloading them there. We recommend, and encourage, all new patients to fill out all of their paperwork ahead of time to save time the day of your appointment. We ask that all new patients try to arrive 15 minutes before their appointment to get checked in and ensure we have all of your paperwork filled out properly. If you are running behind for your appointment, please call us, and if you are more than 15 minutes late, you may have to reschedule your appointment.

Once you are fully checked in by our front office team, your dental hygienist will take you back to begin your appointment. At this time your hygienist will begin your comprehensive exam and cleaning. They will thoroughly check your gums and your entire mouth, and perform x-rays. X-rays are a great way to find further problems that may not be detectable during your regular visual or tactile exam.

After this is complete, you will then be seen by your dentist. Did you know that your dentist completes an oral cancer screening every time you come in for a dental exam? This is done by checking your gums carefully, the inside of your cheeks, and your tongue, as well as looking at the roof and floor of your mouth. In addition to screening for oral cancer, your dentist will look for any cavities, gum disease, excessive wear, and many other issues!

If there are any concerns after your examination, your dentist will provide you with the proper treatment plan. Our front office will guide you through payment options to get the work completed, help you schedule your next appointment, and answer any further questions you may have.

It is our goal to make your first appointment with us a great one. If you have any questions regarding your new patient exam, give us a call at (704) 927- 5499. We are happy to help!

Looking for a new dentist can be overwhelming and can leave you feeling unsure of how to even begin your search. Deciding what makes a dentist a good fit for you can be challenging. However, there are a few things you could take into consideration in order to find the best dentist for you before scheduling your new patient exam.

First, choosing a dentist convenient to home or work with hours that are suitable for your schedule is very important. This way scheduling an appointment is less of a hassle for you. Learning how emergencies are handled at different practices you are researching is also beneficial when choosing the right dentist for you. The next step would be to search for highly recommended dentists with many years of experience. Ask around to learn if your friends or family have had great experiences with their dentist. After 8 years in Charlotte, Belvedere Family Dentistry has cared for thousands of satisfied customers that can share their testimonials about our services. Check out some of these awesome 5-Star reviews on Google!

Another important thing to consider is the cost that could be associated with the dental services you need to maintain good oral health, like dental X-Rays or deep cleaning procedures. If you have dental insurance our front office can let you know if we are in-network with your plan. At Belvedere Family Dentistry we want to make receiving dental care as easy as possible. We accept most major insurance plans including Humana PPO, UnitedHealth Care PPO, MetLife PPO, Delta Dental PPO/Premier, Connection Dental, Assurant, Cigna PPO, BCBS of NC, and Guardian. We will also help you file your claim and help you understand what coverage is available to you and your family.

Lastly, feeling comfortable at the dentist is very important. It is essential that you are able to comfortably explain symptoms or concerns you may be having with your oral health. After 12 years of experience, Dr. Bansch has made it a priority to have his patients feeling comfortable and at ease while visiting us on Rozzelles Ferry Road.

We’d love for the opportunity to show you how Belvedere Family Dentistry can help you with all of your dental needs and end your search for a new dentist. If you have any questions or are interested in joining our dental family give us a call at 704-927-5499.

At Belvedere Family Dentistry, it is our goal to preserve your natural teeth whenever possible. If you are suffering from a damaged or decaying tooth, we typically look to tooth extraction as a last result. We offer a variety of alternative dental services to get your oral health back on track and have you feeling your best without removing your tooth, one of those services being the placement of a dental crown.

Dental crowns are a great alternative to pulling teeth because they allow us to keep your roots and your natural tooth, providing better functionality and longevity for your original smile. The crown itself is a tooth-shaped “cap” that is securely placed on top of your damaged tooth to provide complete coverage and protection. Not only will a crown help you regain your natural, beautiful smile, but it will also ensure that your tooth is strong enough to protect against any future injury or infection.

So, how do you know if you are a good dental crown candidate? After a thorough examination, our dental experts will determine whether a crown is a good fit with your individual oral health history and your smile aesthetic goals.

Typically, we will move forward with dental crown placement in the following situations:

Are you in need of repair or enhancements for your smile? Wondering if you are a good dental crown candidate? Request your dental crown appointment today by calling our front desk at 704-927-5499 or by submitting a request for your desired appointment time and date through our easy online scheduler!

Once our team of dental experts has determined that you are a good candidate for a dental crown, we will need to schedule an appointment to prepare your tooth for your new crown, as well as an appointment for the crown to actually be placed. At Belvedere Family Dentistry, we understand that dental services like this can feel intimidating, especially when you don’t know what to expect. We are here to help explain all that goes on during your dental crown procedure so you feel more at ease in our care!

In order to place a dental crown, the tooth first must be thoroughly examined and x-rayed to ensure that there is no need for a root canal. If tooth decay, any injury to the tooth’s pulp, or a risk of infection seems to be present, these issues will need to be cleared through root canal therapy prior to crown placement.

After the tooth has been cleared of potential damage or health concerns, it will be filed across the top and sides to make room for the crown itself. In instances where a crown is needed due to damage or decay, we are also able to fill in that missing structure for the crown to cover the area properly. When the tooth has been correctly shaped through filing or adding a filling, we take an impression of that shape and use it to create your permanent crown. This ensures that your bite is not negatively impacted and that the shape of your smile is natural and congruent. While you are waiting for the permanent dental crown, we place a temporary crown to cover and protect the freshly prepared tooth.

About two weeks later, you will come in for your second appointment when the permanent crown is ready. First, our team will remove the temporary materials. Next, we triple-check that the shape and color match with your natural teeth. When everything looks good to go, the area will be numbed to provide you with the most comfortable experience possible, and the dental crown is permanently cemented in place.

If you have any further questions about your dental crown procedure, feel free to call us at 704-927-5499. Ready to move forward with crown placement? Schedule an appointment today with our easy online scheduler. We look forward to helping improve for your oral health!
